Budapest Dance Theatre is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2021. On the occasion of this significant jubilee, we are organising a grand birthday gala performance. The director of the evening is Béla Földi, the founding director of Budapest Dance Theatre. In the first part of the celebratory evening, which consists of two acts, 5 guest choreographers will create 5 short choreographies for the dancers of Budapest Dance Theatre.

The list of invited choreographers includes: Dóra Barta, Alexandra Sághy, Attila Egerházi, Zoltán Fodor, Lóránd Zachár. They are all students of Béla Földi and former members of the Budapest Dance Theatre.

In the second half of the evening, Jiri Pokorny (NDT) will present his performance "You Will Return Someday". The universal human desire and curiosity to understand and explore the world always drives us towards new discoveries. However, the place where we were born, our culture and roots, pull us back to our homeland like a magnet. This persistent pull is constantly at work within us. We return enriched by experiences, knowledge, and spirit to the cradle from which we all set out.
